Paris 2010 – Finally Home

In Paris, Travel on July 1, 2010 at 8:10 am

I’ve been home about a week now and am finally recovering from the 11 hour flight.  I still have my “airplane cold,”  which is slowly going away.  But all-in-all, it was nice to see Paris again, and to experience the changes in the “City of Lights.”

On the whole, the city is much more diverse than it was last time I was there.  I see many more minorities making their way in the city.  It was nice to hear a multitude of languages being spoken, including English.

This trip was a little slower for me than my last visit.  Traveling with a senior was fun, but walking was slower, and distances were shorter because of my mom’s arthritis.  That was OK too.  We got to see more and sometimes got to just sit and watch the people go by, which is one of my favorite things to do.

We visited a lot of the landmarks that make Paris famous.  There are still some things that I’d love to do but have never gotten around to while I was there.  I still haven’t been to the Musée d’Orsay or taken the Sewers of Paris tour.  I’ve always wanted to visit the Rodin Museum, but haven’t gotten there yet.  This time I did see it from the bus though.

All-in-all, it was a great trip and I look forward to one day returning, hopefully next time with my husband!
